Everyone secretly wants to be rare. Good news for some of you: birth data actually says which zodiac signs are the least common, and the answer is a lot of fun to bring up at parties.
The rarest sign: Aquarius
Using CDC birth data for the United States in 2022, mindbodygreen found that Aquarius comes out as the rarest sign. The reason is simple: February has the fewest births of any month, and it’s also the shortest one.
Which is perfect, honestly. Aquarius is the sign of the outsider, the rebel, the one who does it differently. Of course they’re the rarest. They would have hated being common.
The most common signs: Leo and Virgo
August is the busiest month for births in the US, which makes Leo and Virgo the most common signs. Count back nine months from late summer and you land around the winter holidays. We’ll let you do the rest of the maths.
So yes, statistically, you know a lot of Leos. You’d know that even without the data, because they’re the ones you can hear from across the room.
Where does your sign fall?
